If you suspect abuse, neglect or exploitation is occurring or has occurred, contact Adult Protective Services by calling 1-855-OHIO-APS (1-855-644-6277) or your county Job and Family Services office.

When a mandatory reporter files a report, they should provide as much information about the victim and suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation as possible.

Providing this information will help initiate an effective investigation. 

Numerous professions are required by Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 5101.63 to report suspected elder abuse, neglect, exploitation and fraud.

Once a case is reported, an Adult protective services (APS) caseworker will be assigned to investigate the case on behalf of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.  In other occasions, an ombudsmen or local law enforcement may also be involved.
